But........ A paper bag for the honor system??? No sign? Put something like that along the roadside around here and you'll be lucky to recover the wheel- barrow! How from any campgrounds are you? Good luck with your sales. Welcome.
When we lived in Forest Grove, OR, a local farmer had a very well done produce stand, very Large and Well stocked, even a price calculating digital scale, unattended, not only on the Honor System, but even had a cash box so you could make change for your purchase. It worked very well for Many Years, eventually, the inevitable happened, and some scoundrel, walked off with the cash box. The farmer continued selling excellent produce, Stihl even on the honor system, but with a very secure drop box. Sadly change eventually comes to Small Town America too Doug
I mainly get wood from blown down trees, keeping in touch with a few town’s public works to see what they have, and checking Craigslist. I have an 025 (my old man’s second saw, first one was like an 011 AV that seized up, wish I had it), an 029 super I got free .. replace a carb and it runs better but the clutch is loose so I need to replace that. Bought a lightly used 290 for $200. I use maul so split, use a wedge sledgehammer for elm/knotty stuff. I stack by my garage and along the fence, about 4 full cords. Just a side hustle. I like honey locus because it splits well and there is a lot around here. I like hackberry cause is seasons fast, I love mulberry, just love it, love hedge too burns hot but pops. (Oak is overrated but I get exited when I come across it). We usually go back home to Kansas for holidays and I cut/split alot out there. My old man has a champion splitter, 20 ton or so. He won’t sell his wood, true hoarder.
