Exactly one year today a youngster was lighting fireworks after the fourth and started a grass fire that the fire department had to extinguish. It scorched this elm pretty bad and a few cedars (junipers) as well. I’ve been keeping my eye on it all year to see if it was gonna survive. Don’t look like it does it? 3F5753AC-82A1-4B3A-84AF-083C86272029.jpeg
I got the go ahead to get it for firewood last week. I’ll update with pictures when I get after it, probably in a couple months after the temperatures cool down a bit

Cool score (no pun intended) Any fireworks scorched trees from this fourth for next year?

    Not that I know of.
Got enough scores lined up to keep me busy for a while as it is. Just need more hours in the day.

If you're gonna torch tree's for firewood, I'd recommend something other than elm. :deadhorse:  :doh:

If you burn them whole no need to split.
    Nobody likes splitting elm anyway.

  Not sure of his other choices out there. Thinking cottonwood is the other common tree.
