Anyone here ever built or seen a firewood cutting table? I’m thinking of trying to build something rugged enough to set triaxle load log length firewood on with my front end loader on my tractor to save a bit of my lower back. Any thoughts, experiences?
    Thanks.

I think I saw a post somewhere on here, someone built and heavy duty rack/table to cut on.

Why not just get forks for the front end loader?

A member had posted this a while back. I think this was the one T.Jeff Veal was thinking of
    Log butchering table

Just build an oversized sawbuck. Build it longer than normal with perhaps wider feet. It should work.

Good question. I have a set of forks for our tractor but when I cut off the forks the pieces wind up falling on the ground. With the table I was hoping they would on top after cutting & save bending.

Understood but you could also still use the forks, just cut above a platform and let them drop onto it.

I've got a big steel frame saw table that I got with my splitter when I bought it. Will hold 10 16" X 12' logs. May not be what you're looking for, but I'll try & shoot a couple pics & post them.

I was thinking that what was meant with the suggestion of using forks was to load a large table with logs?

If I were to make a log table it would be 90 degrees with a long and short end. Like the letter L. Then I’d tip it back 45 degrees or less. Would make dumping the log in easy and reaching around the short end with a saw easier too.

I’d love to see it. Who made it? The wood splitter company?

Yes my idea is to load the table with the forks & then cut off the table. Jrider has a point I suppose I could also cut from the forks above an elevated platform & then not have to go all the way to the ground to pick up the pieces.

Farmchuck here's a few pics. Thing works well as far as height. The straps are tie downs to keep it from nosing over when loading downhill. It's set out of the way for the moment as I rearrange my processing area for the conveyor. I let the rounds drop & roll them to the lift table on the splitter. It's nice & heavy duty, bars are laid out to minimize the chance of hitting it with the chain. 16" 18" & 24" lengths are pretty easy to make on it.
