The below photo shows the consequences of illegally parking in front of a fire hydrant. The New Bedford Fire Department in Massachusetts shared the photo on Facebook after putting out an apartment fire last weekend, showing that the truck crew had to break through a parked car's windows to reach the hydrant. "The crew of Engine 9 overcame an 'obstruction' in front of the closest hydrant and were able to secure a water supply," the department wrote on Facebook. Bet the "whine" coming out of the IDIOT car owner would have been louder than the whine of the truck siren when they seen their car..........
Not only illegally parked but also too close to the cross intersection. Back when I trucked I was in NYC and there was a nice MB parked just like that and I could not make the turn. Cop came by and told me to run the SOB over and I complied. Took that really nice MB to the ground, popped the tires off the rims too. Totaled it and didn't hurt me a bit. After I flattened it, he put a ticket on the busted windshield too. Oh well.
I have NO issue with what they did. Hope the city and insurance both deny the claim. Can't fix stupid.
Some laws are utterly stupid (like not being able to pump your own gas in New Jersey ) , and others are really stupid to break. Break this law, and the law breaks your windows. I like it.
I didn't know that. Strange. Does that mean you have to have someone fill your tractor fuel tanks too?
I don't know how that works. I would assume if you've got your tractor registered as a farm vehicle and take it down the road to a gas station (if that's even allowed there) that someone would have to fill it for you. Maybe a proud New Jersey resident such as WeldrDave could shed some light on the subject
Glad I don't live in the 'Garbage State'... Guess I'd have to have someone stop by and fill my tractors from my 500 gallon bulk tank if I did. Now if it was a pretty lass, I'd be good with that.
Can't pump your own gas in Oregon either. You would be suprised how many people out there are either afraid to or don't know how! Gary
The "don't knows" are surprising considering how many of the same ones are barely able to function with a automatic transmission.
