Got the oven going yesterday for the block party. Made a pulled pork, fresh tomato , and a dessert pie. The dessert pie was nuttela, with brownie chunks , strawberry, blueberry , powdered sugar..
Today I'll load the oven with wood and put the door on to dry for next time.

Looking good. The local flatbread pizza place makes a pulled pork pizza with caramelized onions, barbecue sauce and goat cheese. It is one of my favorites.

I do pizzas in my pellet smoker and they come out awesome. What wood do you use?

    Hey!
I usually use red oak for pizza, or Beech. Only because that's what's the driest right now.. Lol. Have you been back to Matawan ? I grabbed another load on Thursday.

Thanks ! Yeah , the pulled pork one is definetly a hit. I'll try it with the goat cheese and Carmelized onions next time. We also make a mean clam pie. And the fresh tuna with arugula, teriyaki, and wasabi is always a huge hit.

I make a good one with prosciutto, caramelized onions, feta, and a spray of balls on it vinegar.

Do you use a pizza stone? I put one in the pellet smoker and put it on the highest I can which is 475. I'd like it to get hotter but for an overall tool it's great.

No pizza stone , the hearth of the oven is the cooking surface. When I make pizza indoors , I use a cast iron pizza pan, it preheats with the oven. I like it better than the stone.

Might have to try a cast iron pizza pan in the future. Although I have no issues with my stone at the moment.
