Hey guys (and ladies)...haven't had time to post in quite a while, but have great news! We sold our house of 15 years, and are just about to close on 10 acres of (mostly) woods in N. Georgia. This is something we have been dreaming of for many years and it is finally here! I will be building our cabin and a few outbuildings, and it has a well and about a football field sized clearing so my wife can do all the gardening she wants. Can't wait to be able to cut my own firewood, and have a place with no mortgage. Truly our dream come true. Will post pictures as we go.
Congrats. We did the same thing 7 years ago sold the old homestead in town and built new on 23 acres in the woods. Best thing we have done in 41 years together other than having the twins 38 years ago. We to are mortgage free and living the good life. There will be some bumps along the way but keep looking forward and it will be well worth the effort. Best wishes and have FUN.
Congrats. I did the same thing 2.5 years ago. Once I saw the 25 acres of mature hardwoods, and a giant wood furnace, I forgot about the house!!!! Enjoy
We did this 8 years ago but were tempted by a parcel just over a sq. mile. We succumb to the temptation and never looked back!
It will be great to watch this develop through the pics you will post (right?) over the following months!
