    I started a similar thread on AnotherSite.com

I've been after this particular model for nearly 3 years. The folks that have them dont usually want to cut them loose and for good reason. Then I saw a thread come up back in Nov on SawHawgs from my good buddy Randy (Mastermind) that he had scored a fine specimen from Sean (Srcarr52). I followed that thread pretty close. And I went ahead and recorded the saw and owner on my "watch list". Went to see Randy a couple times and "threw the bait" while I was there (I have no shame). Well, it finally paid off.... Sunday night. He offered it to me stating that "he never used it, and he knows that when I put my mind to something, Im gonna make it happen, so he wanted me to have it". I couldnt get my checkbook out quick enough!

So without further ado, let me show ya a saw that has alluded me for several years. Irregardless of whether I need it, with all the time and effort I have put into getting one, I will NEVER sell it.

Im gonna use Randy's pics from when he got it from Sean.

It is not green as it is a Poulan Pro model based off the Pioneer P-62/P-65 saws. They were produced from the late '80's to the mid '90's.

Because Poulan Pro is the name used for the North America market when Electrolux took over Pioneer/Partner Saws in the late 80's.Pioneer Saws,a venerable company from Ottawa,Canada made top notch stuff, their colors were a light lime green (lighter than the more recognizable Poulan)/dark green combo (almost like british racing green in the old Triumph's or "Hunter green".Pioneer merged with Partner in the mid 80's sometime I believe.

And Partner saws of Sweden (inventor of the first gas powered cut off saw used in rescue work in 1958) were another respected brand of chain saws, they were yellowish gold & black, that color scheme carried over to the Poulan Pro brand, which is still used today.Partner was still making gas, electric, pneumatic & hydraulic power cutters for the construction, stone & demolition industries until the late 1990's. Today the name is no more, all their sawing, drilling & breaking equipment is branded Husqvarna, part of their Construction Products Division.

My 1994 Partner K650 71cc/4.3 cubic inch cut off saw with diamond blade, garden hose adapter for dust control when cutting stone/concrete.Still have it.

Poulan Pro 475,bought it new April 1994,77cc/4.7 cubic inch, its basically a rebadged Jonsered 2077/Partner 7700.Made in Sweden also.Sold it Nov 2011.Miss that beast lol :(

Not all Poulans were Green (The cheap Wild things were Purple and Green, but they made some Awesome purple and green saws as well) Most of the good ones were yellow. Especially the older ones

Steven, that is a great saw.. :) That is one saw on my bucket list. :dex:

Thanks for the history lesson, Thistle. So what's special about this particular model?

    I can.

They serve as extra transfer ports. More transfer area means more air/fuel to go boom in the combustion chamber. :)
