My neighbor cut down a small monkey puzzle tree last spring and I got a piece. I'll stick to wood not covered in sharp spikes. No more monkey burning for me.
for some unknown reason, our area was popular years ago in planting Monkey puzzle trees as yard trees and even in a wilderness garden on the north end of the island in the middle of nowhere. They thrive in our climate but I shudder at having to mow a lawn around them. Rather a neat picture of it burning in the woodstove.
