Well we are finally getting some below zero temps. We have our annual Ice fishing weekend up on Lake Winnebigosh new Grand Rapids, MN. on the first weekend in February. Since, summer is so busy for me this is my annual fishing trip. I go with great guys and we usually nail the crappies big time.

They were just starting to get on some small lakes and channels over here this week. Will be starting over since this last warm up, but with the cold that is coming it it should pop right back! I am in the wholesale bait business and this weather has just been killing us!:(

But like my dad use to say "The only difference between a good winter and a bad one is you don't lose as much money in a good winter!"

This year looks to be a bust around here. We have not had consistent cold weather. Only the small ponds have a skim layer at best.

It is also dangerous with pets, wildlife and people going through. Just this weekend two young kids went through the ice here in Ma.

Sadly, one is ok, the second is still critical as of a few hours ago.

We have a small pond we drive by all the time. It has not been cold here at all. 2 last times we went by the pond, there were people & kids (20) all over the same area. Yesterday it poured here with temps in the 40s... :picard:... ice over deep water scares the beeeegeeezus outa me. Ice over tar doesn't seem to be any better either... I just gotta stay off ice.
