Had a bunch left from 15/16. Its almost gone.
Sure was good burning dry stuff, 4 years CSS.

Into the 16/17 section of the shed. Filling the basement.
15°, no wind & not much daylight. Got about 3" of snow :)
    8° now, stove cranking :)

Looking good, Dave. Reading this post made me immediately realize something that I knew has happened almost every year since I started burning....I've still got wood in my stacks from 5 or 6 years ago, mainly "tailings" (leftovers) from previous years' stashes. That's the wood that gets stacked against by the newly spit stuff in the late spring and isn't to be seen again for several years.....

If I ever build a shed, I should be able to eliminate that from happening.....

I like that little chute you have there bogydave, makes me want to put a doggy door to slide wood through to save tracking some snow in.

I just started burning some stuff I stacked back in June. It was nice and dry, fresh split barely registered on the MM. Dry climate and fast drying pine make for a nice combo. It is scary how fast a pile of wood can disappear. I will be happy when I have 2 or more years stacked l8ke a lot if you guys.

    Yea
Might have that problem coming up this Summer.
Don't think I'm gonna empty the 16/17 side all the way .
Won't have enough room for the stuff I cut this Fall.
Where to put the 3 year 16/17 wood.
Fill the basement up I guess.

You had a mild winter last year too.
Are you going to Cali this winter?

    That wagon rocks!

I can't find one like that around here. Did it come with the wide ATV flotation tires, or did you put those on it?

Right there with you! I feel so behind the proverbial 8 ball in having enough wood. I moved to Bailey in July (loved several homes in Big Elk Meadows area btw, but the hoa fees... Yikes!)... I am hell bent on getting ahead of it come springtime (proper racks, shed etc), keeps me up at night...

For my epa stoves, burning 5 year old wood is a treat. Being able to light the splits with just a fire starter and no kindling is nice.

Bogy-when you're playing in the warm climate, what keeps the house warm?

Hope you don't end up having to re-stack your shed just to keep the rotation in order.....

I'm sure you've been asked but what does your birch compare to BTU-wise to some of the common Northeast trees?

On the main page there is a BTU chart.. White birch is a decent wood and looks great just sitting there though!
