Keep it civil, fellas. What angers me is the role the media has played in this whole thing to twist it into what it has become.

Just a heads-up, if this heads south, I'm shuttin' it down....just letting everyone know so nobody gets upset when it happens.

I'm pretty sure their was going to be protestor activity either way the decision came out. Unfortunately MO has shoot to kill vs shoot to stop as part of their police training. I could go on with some of the legal stuff my wife (an attorney watching the daily goings on) and I have discussed but it really isn't worth it. Ultimately it's a shame it ever happened.

Went through the Detroit riots back in the late 60's and back then, all bets were off.
Unfortunately, some feel rioting is their only recourse to vent.

The media definitely exacerbates situations like these and the general public eats it up. Let's face it, we're a full fledged 24-7 infotainment culture.

But yeah, what's going on in Ferguson right now isn't good for anyone that truly cares about this country.

States where cops are also trained in instantaneous nuanced response, and mind reading... ;)

The Supreme Court has upheld the right of citizens to videotape police in public.

It should have not even happened. It could have been dealt with much better by both parties. The elder, trained "professional" should have handled the situation in a safer, more tactical manner (wait for back-up), and much better than he did. And he failed. And the younger person, who in the eyes of the laws of any state is now a man, made a very unfortunate mistake. Sad stuff and nobody wins. Then, instead of trying to make progress, the trouble makers come in and make things worse for everyone. Which will only further divide.

I am so thankful that we still have rual areas for some of us. I just want to live and let live.
I worked for what I have and would like to keep control of my assets. There is no way I could survive in an urban area.

I'd say it'd be more accurate to say "nobody with honorable intentions wins."

The media always wins when it comes the suffering and tragedy of the commons.

I really don't understand why people go nuts. I know they're upset and want to express it in protest and that's fine but I don't understand why these agitators come in and get everyone stirred up to a point where it turns violent.
