New farm that I had been to before. 10 miles from home. 2 ash tree blow overs on the fence. Dead, but a lot of it is pretty solid yet. Almost a full truck load.

Great wood, good working conditions with being able to drive right to it and helping out the landowner!!
    Everybody wins.

I love when I can drive right up to the wood. I pass on most scores that are not “drivable”. A friend of mine is in his 70’s and passes on the easy scores and uses a wheelbarrow to make 100+ft trips! I don’t get it.:hair:

I work both at times, Sure I prefer to back right up to the pile but I don't shy away from having to wheelbarrow a ways, especially for a good score of good hardwood.

Good stuff there. Nice that you can drive right up to it.

Usually when I cut wood on a fence like that its so over grown and the saw finds the rusty fence I didn't know was there! :hair:

    Another great wood get!
I too love to be able to have the truck close to the score but it doesn’t discourage me. :tree:

I have to say when I was almost done I caught the fence wire (straight steel wire) very briefly. I finished the cut and when I got home I ran a file over the chain and it did not seem to do anything that I could see.

I prefer my electric if there is a risk of metal in the tree. Better to grind a slow electric saw to an instant halt than a gas saw with a chain flying around at mach 10.
