May dad will soon turn 90 years old and he still cuts and heats with firewood in the Blue Ridge mountains of VA. I took some gear down and helped him process a pine that had fallen that he will burn in a bonfire this winter. Age really does not mean much. What means a lot is how we are still able to use our bodies at any age. My hat is off to the man though!

While I agree with this, I will say I don’t rebound after a really long hard day of work like I did when I was younger.

For sure, that is normal. Today I just have to laugh about the idea of a 10 minute break. Ha! No such thing as a 10 minute break now. Even an hour is not enough.

I hear ya Backwoods Savage For me, breaks are around 20 hours or so. I may work 3-4 hours in the morning and not get back to it until the next morning.:BrianK::BrianK::BrianK::BrianK:

    My dad has a strategy

He works about 20 minutes, like loading his gator, then drives or rests about 10 minutes. He can go a long time that way. I am 54 so I would be thankful for every extra year I could heat with wood, but my dad keeps moving the record to beat forward!
