Over the past month, one of the Lopi fans started having intermitten "chattering" noise. Probably a bearing. This is the 7th winter for these fans. A lot of hours. ...so, rather than wait I got some new ones. I was going to take some pics of the total replacement...but it was so easy and went so fast I never stopped for pics until I was done. On first run....they are quieter. They move much more air. I think now when we are in the living room, we can run them slower and get the same air and much less noise. Well worth the effort.
Where did you get them? My lopi blower is on its 9th season. A good cleaning usually gets them back to normal when I notice reduced performance.
That's what I thought about mine, too. Cleaning the dust off the impellers does help. I noticed w/the new ones, when I spun the impellers by hand, they would spin for a few seconds. The old ones would not spin at all. I could feel the resistance. We can tell the difference in how much more air is being moved with the new ones. They are circulating the air in the living room every 20min. Really glad I did this. fireplaceblowersonline.com
Nice job getting out in front of it! My fan needs a cleaning, its rattling a bit for sure. I clean/lube my fan before each burning season but always find mid-season I need to do it again.
