That's a tough one. Are you getting a cord, face, pickup load, etc? Sort of odd that he didn't quote you a price unless he`s hoping you`ll pay more than he`s willing to advertise.

Did you call any other tree companies? Some will do that for free. That saves them from paying disposal fees.

I like the free sound, it sounds like a scrounge situation. How hard are you up for wood? Maybe $25-50 if you have to do any work, that's a some good quantity of wood too. It's green, you still have to process it, and your helping him get get rid of it. But it's all relative too.

If I had to go 80 miles round trip, I wouldn't pay anything.... If it was right around the corner and it was cut to length, I'd pay maybe $50-75/cord... If it was delivered to my doorstep, I'd consider $100/cord for the good stuff... Of course, at these prices, it's not that good of a deal..

I'd hate to make a deal with someone, drive all that way and then get disappointed by my findings..

At 80 miles he'd have to pay me, but it's all a question of what alternatives you have. If you didn't get wood from this guy, where else would you get it? How much would that next option cost you, factoring in time and effort along with cash costs? Whatever that works out to, offer this guy less.

Fuel prices and the mileage your going. I'm thinking $25 for the whole haul away. Must be a full load too. Free if not a full load. I don't like the you give a price for my stuff. If someone doesn't have enough ethic to reasonably proce their stuff im not going to mess with them

He's got to pay to have it loaded and hauled to a disposal site pay for disposal or haul to his base of operation Id say he has more costs getting rid of it himself. I say the ball is in your court. Shoot him a price and see what he says
