With the thought that we are just around the corner from Old Man Winter, I figured that it would be wise to get the snow fighting armada prepared while it was still decent to work on it. As some might remember from last year, I had bought a vintage plow truck at a local auction. It was eventually nicknamed (a whole story on it's own)..."Willie Nelson". Well, ole' Willy ended being sold to a lad who restores old ford pick-em ups, and has moved on to better times. Alas, we have now replaced "Ole' Willy with a 20 year younger version, who with 300,000 km (187,000 miles) is a senior in his own right.

Anyone care to help me name the latest "snow crusher"? Things are looking up on this one as it has a better heater and a radio. So, ole' man winter, Bring er' on............. :p

We don't see plows on F150's around here. Usually they use a GMC, Chevy, or Dodge for plowing. So I would name it Rebel, or maybe, Outlaw.
That is a very nice looking truck. I just sold my F150. wasn't using it. Couldn't get into it without a step stool.

Oh I wish I had a pic of my dad's '84 F150 4WD standard cab, 8' bed, 302 w/ 4 spd..... That thing pushed a lot of snow. Never missed a beat. Made plenty of loot from '84-'90 on Long Island, when it still snowed regularly up there......:)

Can't even plow with the new F-150s. Voids the warrantee, I've heard. Think it has to do with the amount of aluminum in them.

OK, if it was mine- "Ol' Shart".

Just because, if it was mine, for reasons.

    • It's been around a while, but it's new to you. No telling what's gonna happen when you get the urge to fire it up.
    • The plow looks a bit old and crusty, but the rest is smooth and muti-colored.
    • The camper shell increases in dimension towards the rear, no telling what the actual volume is.
    • Question?- How is the exhaust? Does it vent properly when you back- up?

Crap. I think I'm projecting about my upcoming colonoscopy in a few months. Forget what I said.
    Name it- Sunshine. for reasons.....

Your right Save, this one is a " basterdized" set up. It belonged to a young lad who slapped the 8' HD Curtis 3000 Sno Pro on it. WAY too heavy for the truck. I cut it down to 7' and removed about 250 lbs. of additional weight off of it. Also had to rewire the entire plow as that was pure "cave man" as well. Truck runs good and everything except the A/C works on it. Unfortunately, its days on the road, licensed are over as there are major rust issues with the body although the frame is good. 4.2 V8, Auto tranny, it now stands as a solid laneway plower here on the Ponderosa.
