I'm new to this forum. We recently purchased and had installed about a month ago a Enviro Empress pellet stove from a local distributor. The stove replaced a Vermont Casting Radiance NG ventless stove that we felt was causing our rooms to get residue on the walls. We had the Empress placed on the granet pad in the corner of our family room and vented out horizontally to through the exterior wall. A fresh air intake was installed next to the wall thimble. We really love the stove's looks as it resembles the Vermont Castings we replaced and it's ease of use feeding pellets bought from the local Lowe's. The one issue I have is the occasional oscillating type of sound coming from the what I believe is the convection fan during burn. I have moved the position of the open doors to reduce or eliminate the sound some times and the sound doesn't happen every burn. I tightened every retaining screw holding the panels, made sure the stove is level and am at a loss as to why the sound continues . It's cause for me to feel something isn't right. It distracts us from watching tv so I'll get up and try to reduce it. Is this common for the stove to make this sound?
Welcome to FHC I'm not familiar with the stove you have so I'm no big help Have you asked the stove dealer to check it out? That would be my plan A as the stove is still under warranty
Nice looking stove! I have a St. Croix Hastings, which looks quiet similar. The two iron doors in front vibrate from time to time, so I leave them open about an inch. A magnet holds them closed, and it is loose, so that might be my problem. It might not be a fan or motor.
BTW, I HIGHLY recommend you putting a surge protector on that power plug. The electronics on these don't like surges/spikes, and a brand new control board is VERY $$$. This is one a lot of us use....TrippLite UltraBlok, available on Amazon for about $31.
