Got a favorite episode or season?

If you had one "burning" question you could ask about their firewood hoarding practices, what would it be?

I've watched Bush People too, but it was a little too "out there" for me, so I stopped watching.

What do you like about Bush People? I like the concept, but everyone but the man & wife...is just not my kind of TV watching I guess.

Am I the only one who wonders incessantly how they make all the money to have the nice equipment they do? Also, Elvin's house is quite nice...but how do they earn enough to make it happen. Perhaps it's all earned from the show. But what about before the show? Just wondering about the authenticity of it all.

I think it is likely that some of them have pretty good jobs. The farm is pretty close to Homer Alaska. The show tries to give the impression they are extremely isolated, days from town. Reality is they are only like 15 miles from town. Some friends met some of the family in Homer last year. My friends said they were very nice, not full of themselves.

I believe the family has some sort of business and is well off, hence the equipment.

    Another interesting tidbit:
Jane and her man have kids too, but chose to keep them off the show.

This is as close as it gets to an honest "reality" show IMO. Bobby Goodson is a good guy.

Maybe that's why she doesn't want to move to the new remote cabin with her man?

The only reason I watch the bush people is to see how inept they are and to feel good about my wilderness skills ;)

I enjoy the Alaskan scenery. Also like some of the goofy stuff the kids do. A real good show is The Last Alaskans.

My honey and I watch the Kilcher family quite a bit. Pretty obvious when they stage stuff but they still have chosen a way of life that most couldn't or wouldn't. Not afraid of work, for sure. I think Atz Lee jr is a very lucky guy to be alive after his fall down that cliff. But, if he doesn't get real about his remote cabin, Jane's gonna throw him off again...

I imagine the barge is a source of income if used for such. Otherwise, employment has to happen somewhere. Also, I think all Alaska residents of a certain tenure get an allotment of money every year just for being there and alive. Maybe someone who knows more will chime in.

Alaska - the ultimate destination for a hoarder??
