My 25 pdvc seems to be eating pellets at a faster rate than it did last year. One of my 'helpers' was pushing too many buttons a few weeks ago when starting the stove... gotta think that was a problem.

I adjusted those lower buttons once before...4-6-1 I think? Right? Wrong? Who cares?

That looks right kroos...if you have heat setting on "1" and it's still feeding too many pellets you can drop the first number to "3" or close up the feed gate in the hopper slightly.

You're correct on adjusting the first # down if it eats too many pellets, but AFAIK, no Englander stoves have a "feed gates".......it's all done w/ the control board.

If I remember correctly, the 25-PDVC is factory set to heat range "D", and bottom buttons are 6-4-1.

Pete, the pdvc's and pdv's have a small slide plate in the bottom of the hoppers....maybe the corn model too I'm not sure of that one.

My EP doesn't have one either....not sure about the other models....wonder why they installed them though cuz like you said you can control it with the controller.

Well I wish mine had an adjustable gate! Some of the models like my PAH and similar units come factory with feedrate set at its lowest possible rate. No way to go lower. And mine feeds at about a 25% higher rate than the specs say.

As has been mentioned previously to you, call Englander Tech and ask for Mike Holton. If the controller program is messed-up, he's the guy who can figure it out & get it corrected.

No need to delve into my issues on this thread, I was merely saying I'd like that adjust-ability on mine (even without any other issues). Ironically the stoves that have the adjustable gate can also adjust lower via the control panel, while the stoves that can't adjust lower don't have the grate. I think it was the basic design of the single auger vs the dual auger design... none of the single auger top-feed units have adjustable gates if I am not mistaken (but I'm not familiar with them all).

There are other heat "programs" built into the Englander control panels software. Occasionally, they get changed due to spikes in current, young children playing w/ buttons, etc, etc. They can also be changed on purpose to increase or decrease pellet use. Only someone at Englander could tell you if that needs to be done. THAT was the ONLY purpose of my comment. Period.

Seems my pellet consumption is down 25-30%. Heat is down, too but not enough to worry about. Before closing up the gate I'd burn a full hopper (30 lbs or so) in 12 hours on #3. Last night it went 12 hours and had about 5-8 lbs left in the hopper.
