I have been wanting a new stove for upstairs for 2 years now. I bought a new Stove last year, but never even installed it. It's output was somewhat disappointing.

So I was about to pull the trigger on a Hormone and found a Killer deal on a New Enerzone Eurostar (50,000 BTU). I got it around the end of April. But waited to paint the family room before install. This stove is replacing a Quadrafire CB 1200 that sat one room over in the dining room.

I also used Selkirk DT which incorporates the OAK in with the exhaust. It preheats the incoming air for combustion. Which helps dry it (if humidity is high, helps overall efficiency, and only one hole to blow through wall)?

Here are a few pics of the process.

The DT is constructed to bring outside air around the inner exhaust pipe. Which heats the incoming air.

Here is a look at the outer piece and where it sucks the air. Has an inter 4" exhaust, that is surrounded by another jacket that makes the pipe just over 6.5". The outside air travels down this outer jacket, gaining heat and losing moisture.

My buddy who has been in construction for over 13 yrs (we are both 32) came to help with the J channel. My Quad, I just used copious amounts of silicone to seal the thimble. Last pic is of my dear friend.

What do you think of the DT? Worth the extra cost?

Yes and No. There is a minor flaw that SBI's tech team is working on now, that involves the use of DT.

But I love the look (large diameter pipe), only one hole, and all the benefits of preheating the incoming air.

Claire... She is only a year old and she is Huge! She is a lazy fat cat. Kinda like her owner! :)

Angel isn't pictured. She is only 5 or 6 months. Both are more like dogs than cats.

I installed a small "key chain" bracket today on the very back of the stove. It doesn't interfere with with the board at all.

I will hang the factory scraping tool (EVERY stove manuf SHOULD supply a tool like this one) , along with a brush, a small scraper, and the ash pan handle (remove able) .

I see the kitty is keeping its distance, what gives? The set-up is clean looking and the key holder is innovative! You gotta paint the key holder to match the stove?
