I am a chainsaw dealership and repair center. Overy the years I have sold many brands of chainsaws. Mac,poulan, homelite, solo and Jonsered. I signed up with Efco a year ago and have been surprised at the level of quality these saws have shown. The warranty is the best in the business and parts are readily available. Very good on price comparison as compared to stihl and Husqvarna. Anyone else try efco?

Never heard of it until today. They compare to Husky and Stihl? Is it american made?
Is there a website? What kind of money compared to Husky and Stihl?

I have a John Deere CS46 and I know of another member here who has a green Efco or two. The 40-60cc saws are well respected.

They are Itailian made IIRC? Problem is they lost quite a few dealers a few years back and really hurt their support network here in the US.

Couple dealers on my site signed up with efco. Put it this way they both are no longer with efco. Their feedback is in threads there.

    Good Luck with your venture.

Some of the saws themselves are nice for the money.

I've seen them at Menard's. Are they like Husqvarna, with lines that sell at box stores, with better, professional quality saws thru dealers?

Didn't Bailey's used to sell them?

Dealer issues have been well documented over time. This is the current iteration of the Olympik/Oleo Mac saws from Italy.

No. They are mostly sold through dealers and not in box stores like husvarna and j-red. Even echo is sold in box stores. Efco has launched a new campaign for distribution and product availability. They have really raised the bar. Box store sales of j-red is why I don't sell them anymore. Husqvarna and echo does the same . I will not promote a brand that turns it's back on its support group.

The home owner base model is around $199.99 with the power sharp system. All saws have 5 years consumer / 2 years commercial warranty. All other saws from there are dual ring pistons and adjustable oiler.:saw:

Had a dealer 2 minutes from my house . They were trying to sell me one for about a year. They told me how good they were and i should buy one. Well guess what ? They are no longer a dealer for Efco. They are now an Echo dealer... And doing better because of it.
I personally never ran one... But held them all. There advertised weight is good.. But the in the hand weights are terrible IMO. They feel like a lead brick to me.
Its kinda like Dolmar in our area. The dealers are here now.... But will they be in a year or two ? Who knows ! But we have 3 really close by independent dealers for Stihl... Husqvarna .. And Echo. I personally dont care if i buy a Husky and they sell them at a box store. Who cares. The products are just as good. And besides that... The models i buy cant be had at a box store !

The cheaper efco ones are sold in box stores like Menards. Seen them there myself.

The Menards around here haven't stocked Efcos since the Earthquakes and Remingtons hit the shelves. I'd guess maybe a couple of years now.

I don't mean to put down the other brands for they are good units. And I have used most any saw produced today but, when you sell saws for a living and with a brand for 8-10 years and they cut your throat by selling and undercutting your prices to box stores . it kinda hurts. My beef isn't with the quality of the brand just the distribution. Efco has treated me better as a dealer than anyone else. I do respect husqvarna and j-red , just upset on how treat ya. I've been in business for 20+ years.lol!:rootintootin::rootintootin::rootintootin::rootintootin::rootintootin::rootintootin:

In older saws, I always liked the older poulans and macs. Poulan 245a and Mac 700 were among the top.

Congrats on starting your business when you were 14. ;)

I haven't heard much from Efco on the tech front. What's up and coming? Will we see systems like m-tronic and AutoTune? Strato-charged engines? What are they doing to meet emissions regs here in the US with the current models, catalyst mufflers?

I hope you are still in the selling business after trying to sell those Efco's ! No offense... But if you have been in business that long.... Why would you wanna sell stuff that is hard to sell ? When i buy something new... I look for reviews online.. Or ask around. Ive done both on Efco saws. Theres basically nothing to read or hear anywhere ! But when you ask about Husky,Stihl, Echo and even Dolmar... You get plenty of feedback to make an informed decision.
I hear you on the way a manufacturer treats you. That does stink. But they have a business to run too. They are about profits too. My local saw dealers are doing just fine selling and fixing the "box" store saws. Even with a Home Depot in town. And a nearby Lowes as well. But.... Logging and firewood cutting are big up here... Both Amish and Yankees help keep the saw business going ! I guess it depends on location.
Its gonna be an uphill battle selling the Efco IMO. Good luck :). In seriousness.. I wish you luck. Who knows... They might be the next Dolmar rising up to compete with the others !
