    Hello
The augers made in these older stoves have an almost indestructible 3/4” auger shaft and last a very long time. However good maintenance is still needed. Also this auger will work with the famous Whitfield permanently lubricated nylatron bushing & end plate. Also replaced the upper bronze oil impregnated bushing then wire wheeled the auger and the auger chute clean. Then sprayed the auger and auger chute with dry moly. Now the auger turns as smooth as silk.
The Nylatron bushing was a little too hard to get the auger in, so sanding the inside with Emory cloth made it a good fit so it turns easily and no pellet finds can leak out.
    Has anyone else done this?
