Wanted to try something different so opted for the Echo 590.
It was preowned but had never been ran. Fired right up as it should after I added fuel and bar oil.
Figured for $250 it was worth a try.
It has a funky chain on it from the factory.

Never seen a chain like that before.
    Good buy.

Low-kickback chain. Good pick up, 590s have a big following and readily available upgrade parts. [IMG]

I bet you will like it. I have a 620p that I love. Also have a 4910 that is a little monster when it comes to power to weight ratio. It pulls a 20” bar in dead dry elm buried and doesn’t slow down. I stuck a 24” on it tonight that I’m going to try tomorrow just for grins and put a 28” on the 620 for the same reason. Have to finish cutting up the trunk of a HUGE American elm that I had taken down. I have a 32” bar on the Holzfforma 660 and it won’t quite reach all the way through when cutting from both sides…and that is about 8 feet up from the base. When I get the stump cut off, I will get a picture with both front tires of the dually parked on the stump. Congratulations on the new saw. Awesome buy at $250

That chain is pretty common. If you dont like the safety bumper, people have been know to flex the chain at that rivet and a bench grinder will quickly remove it.

I think my MS250 came with a similar chain back in the day. I want to say it was branded a “Safety Chain”; I think it had a green dot on it. I’m running a yellow chain now.

Sweet score on that saw! I’ve been eyeing those. Please keep us posted and let us know how you like it. Interested in hearing about the weight as well.

It takes time but low skill and makes the chain better. I’m glad I’m not the only one cheap enough to do that.

My buddy bought one 2 years ago. If I needed another 60cc saw its what I would get.

Its a great saw. Its not my go-to, but have had no complaints with mine for a couple years now, and for that price....:bug:

I've been running my 590 for a few months. Replaced the chain with standard last week and just eats logs. I think you'll like it.

You got a good deal. You can run husqvarna D009 bars on those. Some of the ECHO bars have weird driveline counts.
