Each year during the winter holiday I make chocolate candies. These are very easy to make, get the blocks of dark and white chocolate; yes, I know that technically white chocolate is not chocolate. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler; you can do it in the microwave but be careful because it is easy to burn the chocolate in the microwave and really, the double boiler is just as fast. Then stir in your favourite chopped nuts. I like walnuts in the dark chocolate and pecans in the white chocolate. Spoon the chocolate and nut mix out onto a baking sheet and allow to cool. Enjoy your easy chocolate goodies.

Hopefully guests will come by and eat them; otherwise I can not keep from eating them all and gaining weight. I am not sure but I think I will make some magical biscuit bars as well; although I need to get some graham crackers for the bottom crust. The photo is from last year; I think I got the coconut a bit too brown.

Called pretzel candy in this house, melt the white chocolate, throw in the pretzel sticks that have been snapped in half, add in some crushed walnuts, mix to coat and dollop out onto wax paper to cool and harden. No big deal, but this stuff is wicked addictive, something about the smooth yet crunchy texture, sweet, salty, and savory with a little bit of bitter from the walnuts.

Merry Christmas Kimberly and everyone!!---just a note...when the chocolate is ready to dollop---instead spread it super thin on a parchment or wax paper on a cookie sheet--let it harden then break it into "bark"---much more appropriate for the FHC hoarders don't you think?:wacky:

Yes, that does look good. I have had chocolate covered pretzel but not with nuts added.

I maintain my not so slender figure eating all my wifes baking n goodies. Buckeye Balls, sugar cookies, peanut butter blossom cookies, chocolate fudge, no bake cookies, butterbeer fudge and turtles so far. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach!
