But that's okay, it was Chip Drop. I signed up with them a long time ago and only remember them every 3 months when they send a renewal notice. It finely paid off. All ash of course. With the EAB kill that's about all anyone is cutting these days.

It will take some work to process. Lots of different lengths. Some shorter than I would use for my stove but fine for the pit and basement fireplace.

There's a BUNCH of wood there.

Hard to beat even though the different sizes make it a challenge to stack

I wouldn't mind somebody taking that dump in my yard.
    Good score.

Thanks for the tip. I just signed up. I asked for hardwoods, as we have plenty of pine on the ground here. I don't know if any arborists use it locally, but we will see.

Good for you. Looks like a pretty good load of wood no matter what the length I use it all in my wood stove.

Looks like they cut singles, doubles and a few triples. If they're bringing it to your front door you've got it made man.

Sorry to hear of your new problem. Maybe consider taking your name off the list until they can cut the wood to your specs? Those barbarians!

    Nice score!

Nice get. If those shorties will cut to a length where two, side by side, will fit in the stove, I stack 'em mixed in with full-length splits, and stick 'em in the stove the same way. chipdrop had a link to treestuff.com..I've gotten stuff from them, bull rope etc.
How does chipdrop work? Can you specify what you want? Would be great if I could get some quick-dry Red Maple as a backup in case some of the wood I got for my in-laws doesn't get quite dry enough..
I asked the old tree guy if he could call me when he gets some Red Maple, but he said he couldn't ID it. WTH, you're a tree guy!??

Nice grab! If the shorties are 1/2 length or less of a regular split, I make some wedges and mix two in here and there when stacking full-length splits.
I'll keep chipdrop in mind. It sounds like they might email you first, but then also kinda sounds like they can just show up un-announced with a load of chips. I don't need chips right now. They had a link to treestuff.com. I got a bull rope from them..
I asked my tree guy if he could call me when he gets some Red Maple he wants to dump; Would be good, fast-dry backup for my in-laws in case I can't get other stuff dry enough in time. He's like, "I don't know what Red Maple looks like." WTH, you're the tree guy!??

I signed up a few months ago, nothing yet. Based on their activity map, you have a better chance in MA than me in NH. Still hoping though!

Woody Stover You can tell them what types of wood you want and if you want chips or not. I think if you say things like "oak only" you maybe waiting forever. Just go to the chip drop web site and sign up. It's easy step by step. Every few months you are ask to renew if you wish to remain on the list.:salute:

I signed up for logs of any species. It says there have been 5 drops within 50 miles of me in the last 30 days. Could be interesting.
