Due to the day job I was on travel to the United Arab Emirates for 20 days starting January 3rd.
My girlfriend was going to be left alone the entire time so I planned ahead. She is suffering medical issues and is not able to lift more than 10 lbs. I loaded an entire ton of pellets into my living room (stove room) so she would be able to use a scoop and fill the stove.
My trip got extended by 4 days and on the final day the stove started shutting down on its own.
Due to the cold she burned 40 bags in 24 days.
Once I got into the house I found the stove completely packed with ash and barely burning.
The stove would shut down on a flashing #3 error (Proof of fire)
I quick cleaned the stove as best as I could with out shutting it down due to it being 10 degrees outside and the house was already down to 60.
Once cleaned the stove would run as long as it had a thermostat demand. When the thermostat was satisfied and it dropped back to low level it would shut down.
I figured the exhaust was choked up and planned on cleaning it the next day.
Once cooled off I cleaned the whole stove only to find the same Flashing #3 error.

Guessing the 120 degree sensor went wonky I ordered up a new one. It showed up today.
When I got home from work I opened up the stove and swapped the sensor.
All is good now. Stove starts and runs normally.

Not too bad for a 15 year old stove. First sensor to go bad on me.
This was an easy job to accomplish. Took about 15 minutes to swap the sensor and fire stove back up.

We use the pellet stove as out primary heat. So it was critical we get the stove back running ASAP.
    Thanks for looking.

Glad the stove at least kept running until you got back, even if it just limped along the last couple of days. Nice troubleshooting to figure the problem and great that it was a cheap and easy fix!
