Can anyone recommend a good draw knife to strip bark off logs some that will be used making some mortise & tenon furniture projects? Logs will most likely smaller in diameter probably in the 3 inch range. I have looked and most that I see are all imported. I would prefer to find one that is made in USA if possible. I did see one made by "Lumberjack Tools" but they are quite a bit more expensive than others. Also should I go with a curved blade verses a straight blade. Thanks in advance for any input.
Thanks for the link. Looks very nice compared to some I have looked at. Interesting company history on their webpage. Nice to a small company such as this still going strong.
Sorry for saying nothing with the post - I was at work and in a hurry. I really wanted to get up there to buy a pickaroon in person, fondle some of the other tools, and visit some old haunts.
Don't sweat it. I know where you are coming from. I appreciate your response and the link. I have never heard of them until now. It was a really interesting read about their history and how it all started , If I am ever up that way it will be on the list of stops to make. I ordered the 10 inch knife last night , seems to be exactly what I was looking for. American made and a local small business both a plus. I have heard a lot of negative about the ones that are imported so I didn't want to even go down that road. Thanks again for the link !
