Just a heads up. I've been trying to order some parts for my little DR wood splitter for a couple days now. Finally got through, and was told they have been bought by a parent company. I didn't catch who, but until they figure things out, it doesn't look like I will be able to order parts without a file, and a serial number. Not staying on hold for another 5 hours total. Time to get grandma a gas splitter. Bummer, that splitter was used on at least 150 cord over ten years. (Not by me though)

    Good luck!

I don't own a single thing they make but it all looks very useful and seems like genius designs. That said I have never looked them up on YouTube to see real use videos of it. I have just seen the commercials. I know there prowd of their stuff though!

I have a DR Powerwagon I bought not running for $ 300.00 at a garage sale. Looked new, said they'd hardly used it. I put a new air filter on & cleaned the carb & it fired up. Have used it for several years & it finally started starting hard in the cold. Got a new motor to put on it some day. Otherwise a solid unit, but at $2499.00 retail NO WAY! Works good for moving firewood around though.

I think Generac still owns them. They just moved Part of DR and gave some people severance packages who didn’t want to leave VT. Prob just need to get settled into their new facility. Generac is a publicly traded company that would be required to disclose the sale of such a large business unit if that happened.

“Generac is moving most of DR Power Equipment's jobs out of Vergennes. Art Aiello, the public relations manager for Generac, said in an email that the company's shipping and repair operations are moving to Wisconsin. Twenty-six employees will be affected, though they're being offered other jobs in the company. ”

I asked my dealer about this and he said it was a little rough getting parts when generac initially bought them. They physically moved all the parts from DR to Generac in Wisconsin. He said it’s pretty much back to normal now for parts orders.

Interesting. My DR Rapidfire splitter has been amazing, this is my 5th season with it...somewhere around 10-12 cord per season.

The only issue I ever had with it was the engagement handle failed, I contacted DR via messaging from their website...they had a new upgraded unit in the mail to me that same day free of charge. Never even spoke to anyone on the phone...all done via messaging.

As far as I'm concerned DR is a great company! Hopefully that doesn't change.
