I think the Dolmar ps 421 will be my next saw. But before I pull the trigger I would like opinions and any known problems with this saw

No known issues with them. They are a well liked quality saw. I had the opportunity to put some time on one and liked it a lot.

I think it will be my next as well. Hard to find a negative comment on them anywhere.

That is why I use a helmet with a shield. The only chips that make it through are easily chewable. Mmmmm I love the taste of oak and hickory!

I've had my 421 for about a year and a half.
Out of all my saws it's become my favorite, starts easily, works hard, never complains.
I've put many gallons of gas through it and no problems.
Sunday morning I was going to start off using one of my sthils, tried three of em, guess it was too cold for them to go to work. Grabbed the Dolly, 3 pulls, took the tree down, limbed it, cleaned up the brush, bucked it and put it in the pile. Had left the sthils in the sun, guess they warmed up enough or maybe they were embarressed...any way now they started...they got to work on the next tree. (true story)
The only thing I do....after cleaning the air filter, I put a little grease on the neck of the air filter before I reinstall it.

Get the 421 and use it for awhile, and you'll be posting comments the same as we are now! Easy to start and run and is really fast for it's size. Probably one of the best values out there right now in the saw world.

I stopped by the local dolmar dealer today and fondled a 421 foe awhile. And yep I am going to have to get one before they become makita. Lol

better put a little rush on that one then. makita has started giving us some deals to get rid of inventory faster. Not fire sale pricing by any means but just little bumps/nudges to get us to take a few extra saws that we wouldnt normally take.
