I heard good things about the 510 before I bought it. Please don't tell me to trade it for a 5105 although the thought has crossed my mind. I would like to know about stripping out the catalytic just to get rid of the heat and let it breath easier. Anyone done this with a 510? Or are there any other options.

I have a 5105 that I put a 5100 muffler on to get rid of the catalytic muffler. It was a direct bolt on.

    Have a Husqy 359
Replaced the cat muffler with a regular (non-cat) one.
    Got mine from Bailey's.
    Runs better & cooler :)

R&R the muffler with a non cat,
With all the "Chain saw gurus " here
Some one here should be able to line you up with a place to buy the right one.

Checked Bailey's but found nothing for a 510. It appears that the 510, 5100 5105 are the same family but I'm not sure if the mufflers are the same.
