Im curious to what everyone feeds their dogs. Unfortunately in todays world, imo, the commercials, false advertisements, contracts with vets, pet box stores misinformation etc, its hard to decifer what is healthy and what is not for our pets!

Currently as most know, Maple is on a digestive care food......

Normally, both dogs get Blue Basics, limited ingredient puppy formula, but soon Maple will get a large breed formula, and Saucy an adult small dog formula.

Both of the above have all of the nessessary vitamins, minerals, and proteins. Both are a little on the pricey side, but not too bad. First ingredient is meat

Our old rat terrier gets Purina Pro Plan chicken & rice (there is better out there) but he likes it and it's not the worst by far. 1 1/2 year old Aussie gets Diamond Naturals lamb and rice or chicken and rice.

Both of my labs would only handle Diamond Premium (green and yellow bag)... If we moved them to something else, even slowly. There stools would go into loose mode and they would refuse to eat like they normally would. So that's what I stuck with...

Halle gets Pro Plan Focus for sensitive skin and ground venison from time to time. On a daily basis she gets what the two year old feeds her, drops on floor, etc.

Been feeding this to our two rescued shelter dogs since '08. Not always the easiest to find, and a bit pricey, but the pups are more than worth the trouble & expense.

Grandma Mae dry. Small family owned company, made in the U.S. with human grade ingredients, only distributed through a co-op of small locally owned pet stores. I keep five of their formulas on hand so they get a variety. The afternoon feeding is always mixed with a bit of something leftover from our table, also for a little variety.

Nice variety of good stuff here folks!

Ill add that both dogs get carrots, lettuce, and celery on a regular basis as treats, and they love it!

I just looked and I can but it cheaper at Tractor Supply, of course having it dropped on your door step has some benefits.

    Please watch this vid:
Important Things to Consider When Buying Pet Food
Remember, good pet found isn't normally from your grocery store.
Several good brands listed in the postings, except for hills.
Blue is a decent brand, so is Nutram, and Diamond. I buy the TSC brand 4Health made for TSC by Dimond. The grain free types.
    The video explains a lot

Over many years I have fed my pets what I could afford, from the cheapest stuff to designer food. Different dogs responded well or poorly to each food. I was schooled that garbage in=garbage out, so very low quality foods have larger stools, however, if that works best for a particular dog, do we really care if his stool is bigger?
