Does anyone actually use a 13/64" round file?

No snarky responses from you square file guys:D
I've never used anything other than a 7/32", but I notice some factory chains have a bit of a bump in front of the cutter, could be a worn stone IDK?

Yes. And if you're referring to the junk left in the gullet like in this pic it still doesn't fit.

I use it when the tooth is partially used up. I start out with 7/32

I use 13/64" since that's what my local shop carries.

I've seen the debate and don't think its worthy.

.0156" difference in diameter........Radius will be .008" different

I've had some chains like that and its frustrating.:headbang:

I hand file that trash out with a 3/16 file

That's the bump. So no need to get a 13/64 file

All stihl round ground has that. It's from they angle they grind at the factory. I don't buy but one size file and that's 7/32". You can gain that tiny little bit of performance from more hook by going down farther in the cutter with the bigger file.

Stihl recommends the 13/64 on their chain, but I have never used one. I got one in my kit, but only buy and use the 7/32" .

This is the first chain I've noticed it on - not that it wasn't on the other dozen I've been through.
I was cleaning up my garage and shop today and found a 5-pack of new 7/32 files, and I found my triangular thread file - been looking for that for years
