Neither of us fish and we live in an area with great fishing but seeing I recently inherited a nice 16 foot deep V runabout boat maybe that will have to change.
We have had a very dry summer and stream beds where the fish usually spawn have in some cases no water so the fish that you see jumping are waiting for rain to go up those streams. Most of the fish seen jumping are quite black and covered heavily in algea and from what I've been told they are jumping to try and clear their gills of that slime so that they can breath. They are no longer that good for eating when compared to what else is available to be caught locally.
