Anyone notice that the new Diamond 'Green' matches are chit? Nothing like the old red headed ones, does not matter if they are strike on box or strike anywhere. IME, they don't light easy, take several strikes and then flair up but don't actually light the stick.

My wife and I have been watching this for several months, out of a box of 300 'green' you have to use three matches to get one that lights! So we are paying more for 'green' and getting 1/3 the use and more expensive to boot.

What is worse is that Diamond still makes the red ones but most stores only carry the firggin green ones. You can find the red ones at WalMart though. Anyone have any input on this?

This is just a WAG but it probably has something to do with meth heads using the red ones to cook their chit with.

We use these (not this brand) I don't know if they are cheaper to use, but they work good in the wind.

And on a dry day you could light them on your jeans. Didn't need a zipper.
