Anyone own one of these? I have several batteries for my other 20v tools and it seems to work okay from what ive seen in reviews. Not something id use a lot but handy when i do.
    Thoughts/opinions?

Well, i ordered one. Bought it on eBay Monday morning and it arrived yesterday. IMG_2177.JPG IMG_2178.JPG IMG_2179.JPG
Says it will do 80 cut offs on a 4x4 which is 3.5" per battery charge, but havent tried it out yet. Have a tree job coming up so will be using it then. My three batteries for it are older so dont expect that many, not that im trying to cut wood with it.

Brad let me know what you think of that tool. Especially the batteries :) I’m in the market for a pole saw.

That looks pretty nice. Interested to hear your feedback Brad. Wonder if you can simply add middle pieces to extend it's reach?

I have a black and decker 20 volt similar to that. Bought it to clear shooting lanes at deer camp. Comes in handy around the house too. I think you definitely need several batteries.

I dont have big expectations for it. I wanted to get a Stihl gas powerhead for multiple tools (string trimmer, brush cutter) but not something i would use a lot and it was a bit pricey so i opted for this. Have a tree job to do and it will get used some for that. It is a bit heavy with a three sections (it works with just the two as well) if you go more on the horizontal with it.

it came with one middle section. Dunno if more can be added. Had some flex when going horizontal with it and a bit heavy.

i have three already, two chargers. Have multiple tools including older 18 volt. They make an adapter to use 20v batteries in 18v tools which i have as well.

Let us know how it works.

If think that's a perfect tool to have an electric motor on. No putzing with gas or if it's being fussy. I've got a Ryobi gas weed whacker that you can put all sorts of different attachments on, including a pole trimmer like that. Too bad it runs fer-chit and needs the choke on all the time and needs to be revved up all the time it it dies. If I can get that sorted, it wouldn't be a bad idea to buy the pole saw attachment for branches.

I have the 18volt right angle grinder which i use for cutting in chimney flashing. Cut the flue on that chimney rebuild i just did and it zipped through it. Had to use the second battery though. The 18v batteries are going on 4 years old.

One of the reasons I gave up battery operated tools. Always letting me down when I need them most.
They say batteries have come a long way. I’d just hate to find out different. Buying replacement batteries and chargers can be more $$$ than buying a whole new tool. I hated that racket.

Gave it the first run today. Trimmed three hemlocks at my stepdaughters. Used it without then with the center extension from ground level. Ran though one battery. My batteries are 3-4 years old and have been used so maybe not full strength.
For what it is i was impressed. Biggest limb was maybe an inch plus. IMG_2287.JPG IMG_2289.JPG
all the limbs i cut. Some were cut shorter with the Husky to fit the truck bed. IMG_2288.JPG
If you have the batteries already i would recommend it. Ive used Dewalt cordless tools for over 25 years and have always been impressed with them for quality and durability.

Use it again Wednesday. Here are my thoughts. Dont expect much if cutting bigger limbs (2" plus) I was only limbing hemlocks. Maybe my batteries are old and lack staying power. Maybe newer generation batteries have more power???
Let the saw cut with only its weight. If you bear down it will stop and in order to restart you have to pull it out of the cut. Chain rpm's arent as fast as a gas saw. I was working off a ladder this time so that may have an effect. Still a handy tool.

I have one and it's a good tool for light trimming. I ran down a fresh battery but I cut quite a bit. Overall I think it's a good buy especially if you already have the batteries. I got mine for $143 out the door at Homo Depot.

Welcome to the FHC Wes Hightower :handshake: Nice to have you join us! My three batteries are 3-4 years old and i use them fairly regularly so maybe not as strong as new. Mine was $147 online delivered.

Finally pre-ordered mine. There’s an option to get a hedge trimmer that fits on the same pole. Decent deal if you want both and a spare battery. I’ll have a 2, 4, and 6 AH in my collection with 2 chargers when this arrives.

Pole saw combo at Acme Tools $279. $10 off of you subscribe to emails. Not listed at Home Depot yet.

Planning to devise a way to mount it on the Kubota for trimming the driveway. Pole saw from the operators station and flail mower on the PTO should make quick work of driveway maintenance.

Best of luck with it. Let me know what you think of it. Used mine three times for a short stint each time.

Havent used this in some time and had a pruning job today for it. Got two 6 amp batteries a couple months ago and it cut a lot better with one vs a 2 amp. Used only one battery and it still had a lot of juice left. Thinking about the weed whacker and mini blower too.
