Am I right in thinking dehumidifier water is a near equivalent to distilled water in terms of use for cleaning a cat with Woodstock’s spray method? I’ve got 60 gallons of one, and a quart of the other...

Distilled water is boiled and sterilized.
Condensate might be clean but I wouldn't count on it given that any kinds of molds and bacteria in the air could be/have been collecting in the collection system. It certainly is not potable water but it might be potentially mineral/chlorine(s) -free.

Yup, not looking to drink it, just to rinse vinegar off the cat without adding minerals to tie up the active elements on the cat.

No. Condensate is concentrated nastiness and funk from the air. It is super gross. Distilled water from a store is like 1$ per gallon and actually clean.

i barfed a little in my mouth thinking that anybody might want to drink that swill.

Best yet would be RODI water for cleaning. You can buy it at pet stores, especially ones that sell saltwater fish.

It might not have minerals in it, but it's got a lot of airborne crap in it.

For 99 cents I'd run to the supermarket and get a gallon of distilled water

You guys do know what a stove’s cat is, and the intended use, right?

Not looking to save a $1, more curious if there were issue. Seems like the cat will get warm enough to shorten the life of any biological activity, so the only question is chemical bonding to the cat’s coating. I can accept that it is unknown and not worth the risk to save a trip to the store.

You would be fine.No minerals in Dehu. water. However,if it is not clear, your dehu. needs serviced and cleaned. I have been using my water in my humidor for almost 20 years. And,I regularly use it in the washing machine. If you have any doubts about microbes, mix in some bleach,(5 drops per gallon? I think is normal) and wait some hours,or a day.
