Got out to the woods early this morning since they were predicting highs in the 40's and I'm not allowed to be in this particular woods if there isn't any snow. Started the ms360 right near 7am and went through two tanks on it and 1 in the 025. Made for a bigger load than I planned but it all made it home safe!
Sam Helps to have the right equipment to haul logs like that!!! Say, could you show a pic of the removable 4-way wedge you've listed in your signature? Thanks, and again- nice "decent load" you've got there, Eric VW
It's nice to have the equipment finally Eric, it's been a longtime coming, doing things the hard way. I'll snap a couple pics of the 4-way the next time I'm out in the shop.
Ok... I'll wait! Is this removable 4-way, bought or custom made? I'd like to add one to my 22 ton, even if I have to fab it myself. Eric VW
Wow, thats looks like quite a bit of weight you had there. Nice looking load and you had all the tools to do the job, looks like a good day in the woods.
Lot of wood you got there today! I Don't want to even guess how many cords, but it looks like quite a few. We're still frozen by us with snow, looks like your into the slop now. Not looking forward to that..
As always love the equipment Sam! What's the story on that big KW cab over I see in the background Nice load too man!
Decent load huh. You think geez what's your idea of a heavy load. Trailer loaded full and the bob cat in back of the truck It's a muddy mess here
Very nice. Even if a Ford was used to get it. Must have had to be pulled by a Cummins at some point though.
I was wondering who'd spot the old KW cabover photo-bombing my wood pile. I bought that back in '95 at a consignment auction for scrap price. It's a 1974 K100, screaming Detroit 8v71 turbo, 9 speed with overdrive, and 5.67 rear's makes her a slow and loud old girl. I put a few miles on her hauling logs, brush, pulling junk mobile homes, and an old quonset shed. Her final trip was pulling that 48' van body up here from the farm with all of our stuff in it. That was 4 years ago now...I figured out last summer that I wasn't going to ever get around to restoring her the way I wanted too so I sold it at the end of the summer. The guy paid for it and said he'd come and get it in the spring. He seemed serious, and it wasn't nominal amount of cash, so we'll see what happens!
It was plenty heavy but not horrible! I've done my fair share of pulling stupid loads so ones this size seem just about right now. I know what you mean by muddy; on my way to the road from the woods I was more than a little concerned that I might have waited just a little too long to get out of there! Made me happy to have the tires I do rather than some sissy long-wearing "road" tires!
