This is my log deck. Logs came from woods in far background of picture, it's a bug kill carnage in what would have been merchantable ($$) timber. The drought(s) stressed the trees and the bugs finished them off, real common right now here in the west, besides that, the White firs (Grand Fir, Pacific Silver Fir, and White Fir) species never really quite belonged on this location - a century of fire suppression allowed them to thrive here. Here's a truckload headed up to the barn, all of 100 yards away. Rarely see anyone turn their rounds east-west like this load but it sure makes it easy to just open the tailgate and kick 'em out . (Or for them to fly out on the highway, I suppose!) So I burn what I have available, and yes, I am envious of all you eastern hardwood folks as this is pretty low quality stuff. That's Tojo, he's a 1986 Toyota with 371,000 miles on him. He rarely gets off the property, and with all the stupidity going on, neither do I.Have a good one, Friends.
Good looking rounds. Ive never loaded rounds that way. Either on end or parallel to the bed. Hard workin little PU there. With firewood to be made id stay home too!
The little truck that could! Gotta give credit where credit is due. The wood is close, easy to get to and free! What more could you ask. Nice surroundings too!
