This will come down tomorrow for two reasons, 1. it's dead 2. it will widen the trail for the tractor.

I'll split this tomorrow and put it in the burn pile for the outdoor fireplace for 102_0398.JPG this winter.

thewoodlands what kind of pine is that? White pine? If you were to stick it with a moisture meter what do you think it would come out at?

Dead pine is my favorite! I chop out the pine knots at the base of the branches. Standing dead collects the most fatwood, the stump and roots just below it should be full of pitch. If ya have any branches sticking out of the trunk, split them out with the pine knot intact and you can make a bushcraft torch like my avatar pic!

I have the branches to take care of but the Pine is down and the rounds are split, once the pole beans come down I'll start stacking the Hemlock and the Pine we have in a pile.

We did a indirect pull with the rhino just to make sure the Pine came through the tops of the other trees, the wife did a great job on the rhino.

The last picture is another dead azz tree near the trail we'll bring down, just down the trail from this tree are another seven to eight that we plan on taking out.

I'm not sure how much the old back saver holds compared to the trailer I use but I'm liking the bucket more and more.
