Had about an hour to scrounge today, the power company has been cutting trees where the power lines cross the Farmington river near my house. I have been watching this particular pile of logs since fall of 2021 and can’t believe no one else got them. They have been working on the other side which is more accessible and they chipped everything. I decided to check it out today. Mostly hard maple but also some cherry and a little ash, and a beech log on the ground that is decaying. I got mostly maple that is a bit spalted and shedding its bark. I had to carry the wood 15-20 yards to my truck. Next time I will bring a wheelbarrow. It was great to be outside running the saw. Hopefully I will get back Saturday.

Keep your eye out for the Black Locust. I seldom travel up the Farmington River area but when I do I always spot the locust patches. Gets the mania going :)
