Been searching the web for well made metal fire pits. Came across S&S Custom Firepits, Evergreen Patio, & Fire pits Atlanta so far. Trying to find someone on Long Island NY to avoid shipping costs. Sonme of these pits cost a few hundred dollars and the shipping can cost a couple hundred more.
Anyone know of another place to order from, or experience with the above mentioned companies or others?
    Thanks

How nice do you want it? You could get a used large tuck rim and do a little customizing on it.

I have bought two over the years, both from small local welding companies. I wanted something really thick and about 24" wide and 10" tall with a couple handles welded on the sides. I told them what I wanted And they used scrap they had laying around to make them and they have lasted for many years already. Cost me about $100.00. Much, much thicker than most found in the stores and no shipping cost.

I lay a cooking grate on it when needed.

You might try your local welding shop like previously mentioned. Personally I’ve never seen a good one for sale. The local state parks have nice ones. I picked up a bell end of a 30” piece of ductal iron pipe about 17-18 years ago and it suits me fine. [IMG]its also where I dump my ashes from the stove. Only 30’ from my stove.
