Just found out one of our Hannaford grocery stores is offering curb side pick up. Place an order on line, and 3 hrs later it is available to be picked up. You don't get out of your car. There is an up to $5.00 fee for this service. Can you imagine not having to drag kids up and down the isles and what about all that impulse buying that is so hard to avoid. I can't stand grocery shopping so this might be a viable option.

About 9-10 months out of the year I put in some mega hours 7 days/week.
Walmart online and Amazon prime are awesome. 2-3 days at my door. Just about everything in Walmart other than fresh or frozen can be shipped. I've found some of the online stuff is a little cheaper than on the shelf at Walmart .

That does sound good, but I like to look at the fruits, veggies and meat I buy. The rest I don't care. I am interested in having paper goods and such sent to our house to quicken the time at the market.

I live in a rural area and Hannanford built a very nice, small store in the next town over. We do all of our shopping there.

My company is testing this in a bunch of markets right now, it's pretty popular wherever they've tried it. So if you shop at a Kroger, Ralph's Fred Meyer, King Sooper's, or anything else under the Kroger umbrella check them out. Actually I think King Sooper's is also testing direct to your door groceries right now.

For a lot of products, it's a good idea.
For me to make a grocery run is about $15 round trip, and I get out of the house, but it takes almost 1/2 day.
If this was available, all I'd need to do is bring the stuff in the house, and put it away.....something I do anyway.
    BIG time saver.
We used to stop on the way home from work once a week. That was fairly easy, but still a big time suck.

Shop Rite is now offering a Shop Rite From Home (ha ha, ha ha! See what they did there?) service where they deliver to the house for a few bucks. My neighbor seems to be quite pleased with it.

    Sounds like a great service.

Yesterday an idea came to mind to make life easier. I used to bring bags from the truck up to the house, then my son would meet me at the door and bring the bags to the kitchen where Dawn would start putting stuff away. Now, I get the wheelbarrow, load it at the truck and continue the tedious process.

Oh, I've got ramps..... problem is the boulders along the walkway and the cliff. Funny thing is, I do park by the kitchen end of the house. ....

I back up to the front porch and unload, but the kitchen is at the other end of the house. :headbang:
We should start coming in the back door....it's much closer.:picard:

Good timing on the post. We just used our local service for the first time. We desperately needed groceries and it coincided with the first of the month. Well.... yeah we avoid grocery stores around that time so.... Hey we got some good prices plus no lines and delivery you your door. Two working parents with little kids and it makes sense for us!
