Yes I have waited till the last minuet have been looking at pellet stoves and am looking for suggestions I am heating 1000sq. ft. poorly insulated but I am working on it I have a cap of about $2200 for stove, exhaust piping and fresh air? I would like to have it auto ignite and have it kick on and off from a thermostat I am open to used but have not been able to find anything close willing to drive 5 or 6 hours one way if needed locally I have no stove stores just a Lowes, HD and a tractor supply. Any suggestions plan on calling some local places to ask about what pellets they off and how much $ will be back asking about that next.

They are basically new units, member dexterday and slvrblkk bought from them. Hopefully they will chime in.

If you doing a short up and out the 3" will be fine. Do not by the stat from them. Lowes-HD will have rite temps or lux millivolt stats for around $25. Get a programmable if you have a regular schedule. Set the temp lower by a couple a degrees when you are away/sleeping to help save fuel.

Without back up power you will be without heat. Keep a wood stove if you can.

This stove will turn itself on and off with the stat(has auto ignite. In the cold weather use stat and the high/low feature. Once it gets to stat set temp it goes to a low burn/idle and saves the igniter!

Really the only downfall, if there is one, is no dealer support if you happen to have an issue. If you're handy then it's no problem at all and truely their customer support is excellent.

AMFM 25-EP woukd be a good choice. Or the 25-PAH would work well also. The PAH looks like a bix, but has a Massive Hopper.

As for the stat, most will work, but as Jay stated you want one with a swing and preferably programmable.

What is the "Area" of Craiglist you search?

If you are going to find something used from craigslist to save even more money you can go to google and type in "all of craigslist". Use the first of second link and type in what you are looking for and it will search everywhere in U.S. for you. You can just then pick places that are closer to you. I have found several hard to find items using this. Including my current piece of equipment. Bobcat B300. Have found weights and other things as well.

For that price. Load up on the American Wood Fibers.

The Ligs are good too. But not at that price.

Any opinion on that refurbed stove? The thermostat will only put the stove into low burn from what I read but my house if fairly drafty (working on it) so I don't think that will be a problem. Will prob add a wood stove as well next year to supplement the pellets.

The EP and PAH should both do On/Off and Hi/Low

As for the link you provided? Its a decent stove? But its a dual auger older unit.

I would personally go with the EP or PAH (new generation and single auger top feed that has On/Off ability also).

The Warranty from AMFM is the same as a New unit and delivered to a dock near you for free. Or for $75 can be brought to your door.

Devin....if it were me, I'd go with the EP or the PAH, something with a single auger.....but I don't know what your budget is.....both of those on thermostat can do on/off and hi/low....

I am no expert, nor a stove tech. What I can tell you is if you can afford it, go with the 4 in pipe. Should you want a larger stove later on, it might need that larger pipe and you will be right where I am regretting I didn't do it the first time. Just my very limited two cents.
