I went out to 1 of the wood sheds Saturday night to split some more rounds. Noticed our pedestal fan had quit working, guess the motor died, it was pretty hot.
So we went to Northern Tool Sunday afternoon to look around.
They had some fans on sale, even had belt drives marked down more than direct drives.
    We got the 42" model.
Our cashier was super nice and helpful. When she got our info for the extended warranty, she remarked about our zipcode, her stepkids are homeschooled in a town in our county...lol...
We told her we didn't qualify for the military discounts, she gave us 10% off anyway because we bought 2 yr xtra warranty.
Then she thought of something else...had to add about $2.50 to total to qualify for a free $50 shopping card...
    What a blessing.

The unboxing...just had to put axle and wheels on 0717221926.jpg
It puts out 17,500 CFM... 0717221939.jpg

Looks nice, hopefully you get the hours out of it that the last fan gave you.

How much do you think running fans reduces the drying time for your stacked wood? I fully understand the benefit for you and Ms. Carol when you're slaving away out in the heat.

I get a lot of looks for my outdoor fans.
From keeping bugs away to staying cool I can't understand why they aren't more popular.
One we use frequently has been outside 24-7 for 27 years!!
I'm sure you will be happy with it. Look into a mister attachment makes a big difference.

I don't have any scientific data to prove it...lol...but I do know the air coming out of the stacks is a good bit cooler than the air going in, feels almost like an evaporative cooler running.
I had a guy on FB telling me the fans don't help, said it took WIND and sun to dry wood...
Yep, I thought fans provided air movement (wind) when mother nature was quiet.
What do I know, I'm just a country boy from the south...:loco: :loco:

I looked at some of the mister fans. We don't have a water supply handy.

That should be a big help in this weather when splitting wood.

Wait till things like grasshoppers go through!
Wasps hitting the blades makes me smile.
