After many years of burning wood, I am jumping ship and converting my Englander NC-30 to a
Summers Heat 55-SHP10L. Got it for about 50% off at Lowes (returned due to a loud fan which Lowes replaced). I am thinking of using the same pipe as i was using for my wood, just getting a reducer. Has anyone does this and what has been your experience?

Kat, when posting about the pellet stove you might want to consider posting in the pellet forum.

Some double wall wood stove pipe is certified for pellet, but, seeing a hand damper looks like single wall,so then should be pellet pipe all the way to wall thimble,as stove has forced draft.

My Accentra is setup that way. No problem with draft. Will send pic later.

not being a nitpicker, but you're using an increaser......never decrease flue size....code violation! Also, don't use the hand dampers if youre running the pellet stove (not sure where you are making the changeover)

Yep, that's what I did. Here's the pic. I got the adapters from Eric at Kinsman Stoves.......he was the only person who could decipher the pipe I had, and come up with all the correct parts.

And yes, mine was all double wall pipe. The Astoria in the pic was 4" outlet, and later when I switched to the 10-CPM, it was only a 3" outlet.....a step-up appliance adapter was used there. Both stoves ran great with this set-up.

The P43 here is vented this way and it works like a charm.

I see you have obtained your woodstove pipe thimble adapter already so you should be ready to hook it up any time soon. Don't forgot the 120v surge protector.
