I like coffee, and I like steak, but I don't care for a coffee rub. I tried it on some pork once but wasn't a fan. Maybe its better on beef?
I put coffee in my go-to pork rub. It most definitely adds a different dimension, and no complaints from the consumers. Sounds like we're up for storms tomorrow. Hope your electricity isn't out for long. It's definitely A/C weather here.
Im a bit late to this party but man Ive never seen meat cooked right on the coals before. What wood did you use?
I can just imagine not telling my wife about it and then her seeing me throw steaks right on the coals. That would be fun.... of course once I learned what I was doing....
Those steaks look fantastic. I have done a coffee rub before, using a really coarse grind, mixing about half and half with coarse ground pepper corns. Put about a half tablespoon on each side.... Share your recipe please.
3 parts fine ground coffee (turkish grind) 3 parts ground chipotle 3 parts sugar 1 part smoked paprika 1 part cumin Salt the steaks ahead of time.
