    I've been running Husqvarna's All-season bar and chain oil when I noticed on the back that they do not recommend it being ran below 32 degrees (F). So much for all season.
    What do you guys use in freezing temps? I know that when the saw warms up, it probably isn't such a problem, but I use my saw intermittently fairly often.

    Arctic (blue jug) Sthil bar oil. It is pourable as cold as -55* that I have used it in. When I am at home I use the cheap summer oil, time of year doesn't matter. If I can keep the oil and saw warm prior to use I don't see why it matters. When I am away from home cutting and its colder than 32*, I will use blue jug.

    I like Essence Winter blend a lot.

    If you have Summer oil and it is too thick, add a little diesel fuel to it.

    Is there a certain amount for a quart size or put in just enough to get it to pour at low temps?

    Well it's not like baking a cake.:rofl: :lol::whistle:

    Sorry couldn't resist.

    Seriously, I don't think thick oil is really a big thing other than the inconvenience of pouring. Once the saw is warm, the exhaust is right above the oil tank and metal chassis saws heat the oil up by the time you go back to work.

    Well, how else am I supposed to overthink things if I don't ask dumb questions?! :D:wacky:
    I usually take the same stance, but I've been questioning everything since seeing the bottle. It takes a bit to weed out the difference between actual requirements and statements to avoid liability.
