Dropped a couple of small Alders to give me some room to maneuver and open up the trail. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Looks like that could be a wet area at times. And oh, the moss... That has to be difficult to contend with.
Not having them around me, I'm kinda curious. In my guessing concocted imagination I picture alder being a twin to cottonwood. I have no good rational reason for this but it is just what pops into mind. Is this correct or how is it different??????
I don’t know much about cottonwood but I believe the Alder is just a bit heavier and puts out a few more btu’s. I’ve never burned cottonwood but we have some growing near the Columbia river. In the summer it almost looks like snow when it starts shedding the white fluffy stuff. At the paper mill we supplemented our Alder chip supply with hybrid Cottonwood so they must be somewhat similar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
