Had some warm weather, so we stopped the PH and gave it a good cleaning. One place that it a bit hard to reach is where the smoke leaves the firebox, at the front, and travels to the back to then loop up around and come forward through the cat. That smoke passage gets a fuzzy deposit on it over time, and ash accumulates in there. In the pic below I've removed the cat and the bypass flapper, and am using a piece of 3/4" hose connected to the vacuum hose (using my hand as the seal). It did a real nice job of reaching all the nooks and crannies and sucking out the ash.

Good weather for a pre-shoulder season cleaning before the end of season.

I need to get up to Okemo sometime and maybe stop by and say hello.

Please do - it would be great to meet! It is a little hit-or-miss catching us, but check the house, and if the cars are home and we aren't in the house, swing up into the barnyard to see if we're up there.

I was going to try to make a few runs at the Ascutney rope tow, but the snow has gone fast, and they are a non-profit without snowmaking.
