Cleaned the chimney today.

    My cleanout is under the steps in the garage. I tape a garbage bag to it and then I take the cap off to let the soot out.

    This is looking down the chimney with the top section removed.

    After cleaning the chimney I removed the bag and dumped it out and this is what I got, less than a cup.

    I put the cap on and was done. I still have to clean the stove pipe but I cleaned the gutters since I was on the roof. Proof that burning 3+ year dried wood. Nothing to worry about.

    I cleaned mine in the spring. I'm all set to start burning. Thought about it this morning when I woke to 45° but let it go. Looks like it will be at least another week till I have to think about it.

    Yes, that usually does a pretty dang good job of removing the creosote.

    Likely grab some of this at my local McClendons, my wood is ok but best to just keep things under control from the start.
